Mental Health Awareness

PARTS 1, 2, and 3 of this series are Below.

Growing up with Tourette Syndrome taught me a few things about managing my mental health. Since May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and May 15-June 15 is Tourette Syndrome Awareness Month, I have decided to do a four-part video series about how to increase your resilience.

Years ago, when I began speaking on growing up and living with Tourette Syndrome, I quickly learned that many people in my audiences were dealing with “overwhelming” challenges of their own. By sharing my struggles, it helped me overcome my feelings of embarrassment (from the tics I suffered from) and gave me a connection with everyone in the room that had never been there before.

Due to the situations that Covid has created for many people - quarantine, loneliness, depression, inability to work, anxiety, and more - it has become clear to me that mental health issues need to be normalized. No one should ever feel shame for struggling with a mental health issue.

I honestly believe that we just need to talk about it more. It needs to be out there for the world to see. Those of us who deal with mental health issues need to plant both of our feet firmly in the ground, plant our flag, and proudly take a stand for who we are. Only when more of us make it a part of everyday conversation will the stigma begin to vanish.

So here you go. This is me talking about living with Tourette Syndrome and sharing some of the tools that I learned on how to increase your/my resilience. God bless you.

Jason Michaels TV Episode 6

It was great fun to visit with my friend Nathan Coe Marsh on Episode Six of Jason Michaels TV. We learned how he fell in love with entertaining audiences, chatted philosophically about being an artist and an entertainer, heard some fun stories from his time on the road, and even saw some magic! I really enjoyed his thoughts on how he works with his clients to craft unique experiences for his audiences.

I also thought it was so cool of Nathan to provide access to us to watch his full show direct from the Magic Castle. If you would like to see him work for a live audience in an exclusive Hollywood members-only club, click here watch the video.

A Discussion on Bravery

In this clip, from Episode Two of Jason Michaels TV, I share a story about how one of my mentors inspired me to face my fears, be brave, and become a better artist and entertainer. My special guest Grace Good shares how she had to face her fears in order to have incredible adventures like tours in Japan and across the United States.

I feel that this discussion on being brave is important and timely. I hope you will watch it, enjoy it, and that it will speak to you.

Jason Michaels TV Episode 5

Episode Five of Jason Michaels TV was, in my opinion, outstanding! I tried out a new video streaming software and really enjoyed using it. The technical execution on my side of things wasn’t perfect, but I think that episode five is the best so far from a production point of view.

Having one of my best friends, Stephen Bargatze, as my guest was special. We discuss all sorts of topics. We start talking about our travels together entertaining the men and women of the military deployed to overseas bases. After that, we chat a little bit about his style of comedy and magic and we watch a few of his performance clips. We also go into his personal story of triumph over tragedy and how his faith his influenced his life.

Resilience and Imagination

Discussing the power of imagination is one of my favorite things to do. As I say in the video, I believe that imagining something in your life is the first step in the act of creating it.

My question to you is, “What do you want to create in your life?” When you picture yourself living that reality in your imagination, you prepare your mind and body to realize it.

Jason Michaels TV Episode 4

I had a blast visiting with Jessica Jane Peterson in Episode Four! Jessica and I went on several tours in 2018 to entertain the men, women, and families of the United States military. That gave us all sorts of stories to share! We even watched several video clips of her from performances in Italy and Germany. She is such a dynamic and fun performer to watch!

Next up, I share a video clip on the power of imagination and how it aids in resilience from my #DOTHEIMPOSSIBLE program. I really enjoyed hearing Jessica’s thoughts on how imagination has played a role in her success.

We wrapped things up with a video clip of interactive close-up magic that I performed in a wine cellar in Portugal. The card trick blows my spectators’ minds. That beautiful wine cellar still blows mine! BIG thanks to Jessica Jane for being part of Jason Michaels TV Episode Four!

Resilience and Learning

Resilience and Learning

My favorite part of what I share in today’s video is when I share that learning is the one inner strength that grows all other inner strengths. Want to be more compassionate? Focus on learning how to be more compassionate. Want to be better at mindfulness? Learn more about mindfulness.

My second favorite part of today’s video is the fact that when you learn something, you can never unlearn it. Much like riding a bicycle, it stays with you.

With that in mind, today is an excellent day to study how learning can help you and me increase our resilience. Whether it is kindness, inner toughness, or any other inner strength, studying how to properly learn in regards to building resilience will help you become the person you are striving to be. So, what do you want to learn today?

Jason Michaels TV Episode 3

My visit with comedy magician, juggler, speaker, and consultant Scott Cantrell was awesome! We chatted about our first meeting almost twenty years ago, what his experience was like performing shows on military bases overseas, and about productivity and marketing. He even teaches everyone a magic trick that you can make up and perform. Thank you for making the time to take part in Episode Three, Scott!

Also in Episode Three, I discuss the importance of learning when it comes to resilience. I share a video clip from my motivational program on the power of belief. Finally, I show a short clip of me performing a card trick during a meet and greet while on my Europe 2018 tour.
