Bespoke Commissions
Magic made From Your story.
An original sleight-of-hand piece, created from nothing, built around your brand, your audience, and the moment you need to make unforgettable.

Every piece begins with a conversation.
Every piece ends with something
that has never existed before.
The Premise
Most magic shows borrow from a shared catalogue of effects. A bespoke commission borrows from nothing. It begins with who you are.
Jason Michaels has spent over two decades performing world-class sleight of hand in 55 countries, for the Department of Defense, for Fortune 500 corporations, and on Penn & Teller: Fool Us. He is President Elect of the International Brotherhood of Magicians and a member of 4F — the invitation-only gathering of the world's most respected sleight-of-hand artists. He has also spent those same decades doing something most performers don't: building original magic from scratch, rooted in the specific language, culture, and story of the people in the room.
A bespoke piece is not a magic show with your logo on the slide. It is a work of original art — conceived in conversation with you, developed over weeks, and performed in a way that makes your audience feel seen in a manner they cannot quite explain.
They remember it because it was made for them. There is no other copy.

Cigar Aficionado Magazine — Private Presentation
The Maduro Deck
A story-driven card routine created specifically for the editor of Cigar Aficionado, using a limited-edition Maduro deck from Kings Wild Project. The routine wove together the history of the publication, the culture of the cigar world, and a moment of genuine personal connection. It was not a trick performed for an audience. It was a letter written in sleight of hand, addressed to one person. The editor's response confirmed what Jason already knew: this was not something he had seen before.

Collette Travel — Corporate Stage Performance
The Ultimate Fantasy Vacation
Collette's audience was invited to collectively design their dream vacation — destination, activities, travel companions, everything. The choices were funny, spontaneous, and entirely their own. Then Jason revealed that he had written down their exact choices in a sealed prediction before the event began. The room didn't just react to a magic trick. They reacted to the feeling that someone had already understood them — completely, perfectly, in advance.

Ameriprise Financial — Private Client Event
The Investment Routine
For a financial advisor's private client gathering, Jason created a sleight-of-hand routine built entirely around the language and psychology of money management — the principles of risk, patience, compounding, and trust. The magic was not merely themed around finance. Every effect was a physical demonstration of a financial truth. Clients who had sat through a hundred presentations left talking about this one.

FX Luminaire / Hunter Industries — Trade Show After Party
The Light Bulb Illusion
After a full day on the trade show floor, FX Luminaire's guests needed an experience that felt anything but corporate. Jason created a custom illusion built around a single light bulb — the core symbol of their industry — and turned it into a moment that was simultaneously baffling, beautiful, and entirely specific to what they do. In a world of lighting professionals who had seen every application of their product, they had never seen it used like this.

How a Commission Works
From conversation
to the impossible.
I
The Conversation
Everything begins with understanding your brand, your audience, and the moment you need to create. Jason asks questions most performers never think to ask — about culture, language, memory, and what you want people to feel when they leave the room.
II
The Creation
The piece is built from nothing. No borrowed effects, no existing routines repurposed with new patter. Jason develops original material rooted in your specific story — then rehearses it to the standard his career has required for twenty-five years.
III
The Refinement
Before the performance, Jason returns to you with the concept and any questions that have emerged in development. Details matter at this level. The routine is refined until the piece is exactly what the moment requires — and nothing less.
IV
The Performance
The piece is performed for your audience — once, exactly as designed. What they experience will not be replicated for anyone else. That exclusivity is not a marketing claim. It is how Jason approaches every commission he accepts.
Who This Is For
Not every occasion
qualifies.
A bespoke commission is not the right choice for every event. It is the right choice when the moment genuinely demands something that has never existed before.
Jason accepts a limited number of commissions each year. The work requires weeks of development, a genuine creative investment, and a client who understands that what they are buying is original art — not entertainment with a custom introduction.
If that describes your situation, the conversation is worth having.
◆ Corporate Brands with a Story
A product launch, a company milestone, a national sales meeting — moments where entertainment should reflect what the company actually believes about itself.
◆ Industry Events & Trade Shows
When everyone in the room knows the same industry deeply, generic entertainment falls flat. A piece built from the language of their world lands differently.
◆ VIP & Client Appreciation Events
For clients who have been given everything — an experience created specifically for them, that could not exist for anyone else, is the one that registers.
◆ Luxury Brand Experiences
When a brand's identity is built on craft, originality, and the genuinely rare — the entertainment should hold the same standard.
◆ Private Milestone Moments
The anniversary, the retirement, the moment that marks something that cannot be repeated. A piece created to honor it, and only it.
Investment
A commission
begins with a conversation.
Bespoke work does not have a price list. It has a process.
The investment reflects the scope of what is being created — the research, the development time, the rehearsal, and the performance of an original work that does not exist until Jason builds it. It also reflects something that cannot be quantified: the exclusivity of a piece that will never be performed for anyone else.
Commissions are available on a limited basis. Reach out to begin the conversation and determine whether this is the right fit for your occasion.
What a Commission Includes
Original creation. No template. No shortcuts. No performance for anyone else.
◆ Discovery Conversation
An in-depth discussion about your brand, your audience, and the moment you need to create.
◆ Original Material Development
The piece is built from scratch — concept, structure, effects, and narrative — specific to your commission.
◆ Pre-Performance Refinement
A review process ensures the work meets the standard the occasion requires before anyone sees it.
◆ Exclusive Performance Rights
The piece is yours. It will not be performed for another client, adapted, or repurposed.
