3 Reasons a Virtual Magic Show is Perfect for Corporate Groups

3 Reasons a Virtual Magic Show is Perfect for Corporate Groups

Virtual Magic Shows are a new, and surprisingly, exciting service that magicians started offering corporate groups shortly after the COVID pandemic shut down all live events.

If I’m being honest, at first I didn’t think that a virtual magic show delivered via Zoom would work. I’m quite thrilled, though, to admit that I was wrong! Very wrong.

Virtual magic shows on Zoom have proven to be excellent and popular entertainment for corporate groups, college and university groups, for virtual cocktail parties, birthday parties, and as a ticketed public event.

Here is why…

  1. UNIQUE - Corporate groups, associations groups - even family celebrations - are meeting on Zoom and similar platforms. Because of that, we’ve learned that there is such a thing as “Zoom fatigue.” It happens when too many hours are spent in Zoom meetings with speakers that drone on and on and never stop.

A virtual magic show is a unique way to spice up an event, awards ceremony, or celebration. The art of magic is something that most people don’t see very often. I’ve had clients remember magic they saw me do years before.

By booking a virtual magic show for your event, you can grab people’s attention, wake them up, and give them an extremely unique experience that they will remember forever!

  2. INTERACTIVE/ENGAGING - In a time of quarantine, lock-downs, and mandated social-distancing, people are yearning to feel a connection with others. By booking a virtual magic show for your meeting or virtual cocktail party, you are engaging an interactive type of entertainment.

When your guests participate directly in the show, there is a sense of connectedness that only happens when people experience something together. Magic is an extremely interactive art form, and a virtual magic show builds greater community within your group.

  3. FUN - Let’s be honest, the pandemic has made 2020 a very dark and depressing year. The art of magic is uplifting because it shows us that there is incredible possibility in the world that we haven’t considered.

Joy, laughter, and the experience of amazement are the most common responses to magic. A virtual magic show is lighthearted fun in a year that desperately needs it. It is truly a wonderful gift to give your guests.

Magic Thru the Screen

The COVID pandemic has created an entirely new type of magic - socially distanced, “virtual magic.” Well, maybe it hasn’t created it, but it has certainly popularized it. As you can see from the video clip, I’ve been playing around with performing this style of magic for about ten years.

Ok, here’s the deal. Grab a deck of cards, click play on the video, and follow along with my instructions and I’ll attempt to do an amazing magic trick for you even though you are on your side of the screen and I’m on my side of the screen.

After you give it a try, grab someone else and share it with them so they can have some fun, too! Enjoy!

Mystery and History of Playing Cards

Playing cards have been a fascination of mine since I was a teenager. I love the feel of a deck of cards in my hands. Shuffling them, cutting them, and running through different sleights-of-hand are almost like meditation for me.

I’ve collected books and documents that tell stories and explain the history of a deck of cards for a long time. I love to share little known facts and fascinating stories in my shows in the hope that others will find them as interesting as I do.

It turns out that this common item, that we all have hiding in a drawer somewhere in our homes, is full of history and mystery. Enjoy the video!

Card Cheating with Nashville Magician Jason Michaels

Card Cheating with Nashville Magician Jason Michaels

My origin story in magic begins with me wanting to learn card tricks because I played poker with friends every Friday night when I was in high school. And while I would never cheat my friends at cards, I was seduced by the idea of being able to cheat at cards, if I so chose.

There is a false belief out there that you must be able to control every card in the deck in order to cheat at poker. Not true. By simply controlling one card and one card only, cheaters can gain a sizable advantage over every player at the card table. Enjoy this magical demonstration that shows how both magicians and card cheats can do just that.

Nashville Magician Blows Minds at Nashville House Party

Nashville Magician Blows Minds at Nashville House Party

There’s just nothing quite like watching a skeptic freak out, or a beautiful woman squeal in delight, or a crowd erupt in applause after seeing a card trick that truly blows their minds. If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to be the magician performing such feats - I have two words for you. Thrilling and Addictive.

After you watch this video clip to see the cool sleight-of-hand trick, watch it again. This time don’t watch the trick. Watch the people. Listen to the things they say, the sounds they make, and the way they respond. Watching it the second time allows you to experience it the way that I experience it. Then try and tell me that you don’t want to be a magician, too;)

      Magic in a Plane Hangar

I was on tour in Europe in 2018 and got to do a unit visit on one of the military bases my team and I were performing on. On this particular unit visit, we got to go in an airplane hangar and see how they train airmen to arm fighter jets with munitions.

It was pretty wild to be in this giant hangar with all of these training bombs and missiles surrounding us. As always, the men and women who were showing us around and telling us about what they do were at the top of their game.

      Reputation Making Card Trick

This is the card trick that guarantees audiences pay attention during my shows. I do this at the beginning of the show and it let’s everyone know that I mean business. Once you see this, you’ll never forget it.

Even after years of performing it, I still get charged up to do it because I know how big the impact is on my audience.

And after the trick portion of this video is over, don't miss "the rest of the story.” That is where I buried the gold:)

      Jason Michaels TV Episode 7

Talking to Decision Performance Specialist and Keynote Speaker Steve Haffner was fascinating. We had an insightful discussion on how to make smarter, better, more informed decisions in life and during this COVID-19 pandemic.

Steve also shared an amazing demonstration with two boxes where one box fit inside the other, until the other box fit inside the first. You’ve got to see it to believe it (at 43:28 on the video.)

In my "3 Minutes on Resilience" segment (43:50) we explored the idea of developing grit and how to get “gritty.” And finally, I debuted a brand new magic performance video! (58:15)
